IREFCON (India International Refractories Congress)

From 02 to 04 February 2012 the 9th IREFCON (India International Refractories Congress) was held in Calcutta. The Congress and the identically named exposition with national refractory manufacturers and international renowned raw material and machinery suppliers is organized every two years by the Indian Refractory Association IRMA. The event is considered to be the most important refractory event in India.

Training in communication and presentation skills in Harrachov

This year‘s training in communication and presentation skills was organised by our Czech colleagues and took place on a voluntary basis from November 25 to November 27 at Harrachov/Czech Republic, in the „Riesengebirge“ mountains. Various practical sessions were held in the English language over three days, focussing on communication and presentation techniques.

“Fireproof key technology and applications”

This year’s seminar, “Fireproof key technology and applications” was organized by the European Centre for Refractories (ECREF) and was held from 13th to 15th September in Höhr-Grenzhausen, the center of the German ceramic industry.  More than 50 attendees heard comprehensive and compact overviews of materials science and applications of refractory products given by renowned speakers.
