SiC bricks with silicate bonding are manufactured on modern hydraulic high compression presses and are fired under an oxidizing atmosphere. SiC bricks with 60 % to 85 % SiC content are used among other applications for cooling bricks in the foundry industry and in furnaces of the iron and non-ferrous industries.
